Richard Fairhurst Richard Fairhurst, piano; Iain Ballamy, tenor & soprano saxophone; Osian Robert, tenor & soprano saxophone; Steve Watts, bass; Tim Giles drums. Billy Jenkins , on hearing the tape of the band, wrote one word to describe them - 'Fresh'! The music includes tunes by Richard, one, 'Lo-ganberries', continuing a fruit salad of tunes composed by Steve Argüelles (Elderberries), and Iain Ballamy (Strawberries). It is also a tribute to the respect of Iain for this line-up that it shows him at his most majestic throughout, whether in Richard's compositions or in the Noel Coward ballad, 'Mad About The Boy'. He also contributes one of his classic tunes, not previously recorded, 'Rat On Stilts II', dedicated to Yorkshire Terriers everywhere. Richard Fairhurst was awarded the Pat Smythe Award for young musicians worth nearly £2,000 to continue his studies in New York.
